Canton Coin (CC) is the native token of the Canton Network, a smart-contract platform built around the Daml programming language and targeted at regulated financial institutions. The network is designed as a privacy-enabled, network-of-networks architecture in which independent applications can interoperate while keeping transaction details private to authorised participants. CC is used to reward validators, application operators and users who contribute to the network. The project's focus on institutional adoption sets it apart from most public Layer 1s, but it remains a young asset — price can swing sharply on listing activity and protocol developments.
